Had a picnic/BBQ by the Thames in Abingdon this evening.  Just before sunset, the bats came out to dine on the millions of midges that were flying around! 

I can so relate to this! This might cheer me up next time I'm having a crap morning.

Based on technology initially developed to create an oxygen atmosphere on a foreign planet, the Bloom Box is already being used by FedEx, Google and eBay to generate electricity.

I don't really like the way they call it 'green'. From the video, it sounds like it's carbon neutral at best as it would still emit CO2. That said, it's still awesome stuff from a technological point of view.
